I bought this battery because the "Replace Battery" light on the Verizon box was red. I thought it was the reason my WIFI went down, but when I called Verizon to have the WIFI fixed, they told me the battery was there as a backup for my phone in case the power went out. This battery would give me several/more? hours of landline, non-electric phone service. My son changed the battery, and everything has been working well. Also, there was a beeping noise going on in the basement, and apparently it was due to the battery needing replacement.
