How to Charge a Motorcycle Battery
Today we will be covering how to charge and properly maintain a motorcycle battery. You first must become familiar with your battery's Ah/ Amp Hours, and Voltage. This information will help you confirm what type of charger you need along with how much output will be used. A standard in the battery industry is to try and use a charger that is 1/10 of your battery's ah or amp hours.
For examples check below:
30 Ah Battery = 3 ah charger
20 Ah Battery = 2 ah charger
10 Ah Battery = 1 ah charger
Below 10 ah battery= .5 or 1/2 ah charger
Terms to know:
Automatic Charger (which will be used in this video )= A unit that will charge a battery to maximum voltage then set to a trickle charge in order to keep the battery at maximum potential.
Trickle charger= a battery charger that produces a very small current.
